With the construction of a new four-floor parking garage at the University of Houston that included not only parking space but retail and office space as well, HTS Texas had to provide diverse solutions to all the HVAC needs of the complex.
As the basis of design for the outside air components, HTS provided six Seresco 100% Outside Air Packaged Systems and Split Systems, totaling 22 tons. Seresco was chosen due to their ability to handle 100% outside air along with their flexible load profile.
Another major concern was maintaining air quality with high levels of fumes and other auto by-products. The system needed to be completed with a diverse set of units so as to properly meet all the needs of the parking, retail and office areas. Six cost effective Daikin McQuay packaged rooftop units, totaling 15 tons, were installed along with three split-system FCUs and five Daikin McQuay split-system Destiny LAH air handling units. These solutions provide the complex with a complete system that will maintain air quality while also providing energy-efficient and cost-saving temperature control.
