In need of an equipment upgrade and additional capacity to meet their current cooling needs, the Oblate School of Theology was looking for an efficient and complete HVAC system. Having had a positive experience with HTS Texas and Daikin McQuay in the past, the engineer, HMG – San Antonio, selected HTS’ equipment as the basis of design.
A new 160 ton Daikin McQuay Pathfinder air-cooled chiller with a pump package was chosen for the project. Not only did it meet the required building load, but as a high-efficiency HVAC product, it qualified for a step 2 rebate from CPS. This rebate provides customers with $150 back per ton, so a total of $24,000 was rewarded for the chiller. Long-term savings will be expected as well with the high-efficiency chiller in place, providing the client with additional payback.
