The humidity problems in the Methodist Hospital’s Outpatient Center Operating Room were a main reason HTS Texas was chosen for the basis of design on this project.
Working closely with the engineer, SSR, HTS sought to provide the best solution possible to control the humidity in the specific conditions required for the operating room. Occupant comfort was of major concern as was increasing the revenue for the hospital by providing increased use of the rooms.
Installed were a 9,150 CFM Munters humidity control unit and a 6,600 CFM unit. The units were needed relatively quickly and had to be broken down into modules for ease of loading through the existing building pathway from the loading dock to the mechanical room. After installed though, the space will be properly cooled and provide nurses and doctors with a comfortable work environment.
