The Leon’s Centre is a 6,700 seat sports and entertainment venue located in downtown Kingston, Ontario. It was opened in 2008 and underwent several generations of control systems by multiple vendors. The complexity of the system, and the difficulty of integrating the different types of products to work together, had proved to be very challenging for third party technicians in recent years.
The facility managers, SMG, turned to HTS Controls to develop solution that would allow all systems to work more harmoniously together.
There were 3 main goals in this major undertaking:
- Link all systems together using one modern interface
- Use the power of the new system to allow significant gains in energy efficiency through better visibility of equipment status and energy consumption
- Identify parts of the system that were not operating correctly and bring them up to a current standard.
HTS was able to complete this project both on time, and on budget. HTS is now focusing on implementing further improvements to the Leon’s Centre system, allowing the buildings staff to monitor energy usage with even greater precision.
