A new 80,000 square foot complex is now home to the Lower Colorado River Authority’s (LCRA) Dalchau Service Center in southeast Austin. HTS Texas provided the buildings with an HVAC system that met the client’s needs of energy and cost-efficiency.
Having had previous successful projects with the construction team, HTS set out to provide the most efficient and cost-effective system with several high-quality products from various manufacturers.
Two 150-ton Daikin McQuay water-cooled chillers were not only chosen because of a rebate from Austin Energy but also for their low sound levels, premium energy efficiency, and pay-back in terms of initial cost versus long-term savings. HTS also provided the LCRA campus with six Daikin McQuay Vision air handling units totaling 68,000 CFM, chosen for their quality and efficiency.
Price and performance were key factors in choosing products from the HTS Texas line for the rest of the system’s components. Two air handling units with a combined 5150 CFM were installed, along with one horizontal fan coil unit totaling 3750 CFM. HTS also supplied 40 fan-powered VAV boxes and 39 single-duct VAV boxes, totaling 81,000 CFM.
