Kimbell Art Museum, designed by architect Louis I. Kahn, first opened its doors in 1972. Located in the cultural district of Fort Worth, this 85,150 square foot facility houses a wide array of ancient and modern-day art collections. This stunning museum also offers special traveling exhibitions and public events including guest speakers, book clubs, summer camps, festivals, and art workshops for the Fort Worth community.
When the Kimbell Art Museum team decided to expand the facility they also needed to upgrade their HVAC system to support the increased cooling demand. The owner requested a chiller that was quiet, dependable, and energy-efficient.
HTS Texas partnered with the design and construction teams to provide two Daikin Applied Magnitude® Magnetic Bearing Chillers totaling 300 Tons. The Daikin Applied chillers were selected for their premium efficiencies, industry-leading quality, and extremely low sound levels. Both chillers were also required to undergo a factory witness test to prove both energy and sound performance.
With the installation of these two chillers, the Kimbell Art Museum can now expect to keep their energy costs down and to protect their collections while still providing a comfortable, quiet environment for their guests to fully appreciate the stunning artwork.
