Joe’s Crab Shack, located directly on the sea wall in Galveston, has an open air bar connected to the main building. Due to these conditions, fully modulating hot gas re-heat coils, to control the high humidity, and full coil coatings were required. There is also a centralized controller that allows the manager to control each unit as he/she wishes.
HTS and the Mesa Mechanical were able to complete the job under budget and still provide all of the options needed for this extreme environment. HTS Texas is known for their ability to provide great humidity control solutions and this Joe’s Crab Shack project was no exception. The final project included three McQuay MPS II Rooftop Humidity Control Units (15-35 tons each).
