The Lavietes Pavilion is home to Harvard men’s and women’s basketball and includes the court, a lounge area, and coach’s offices. The building was built in 1926, so renovation of the HVAC system meant navigating a lot of tight spaces and choosing the proper equipment. BR+A knew HTS New England was right for the job because of our experience on similar projects. When occupancy varies from less than 20 people to over 1,600 spectators, comfort is critical.
To condition the court area, we provided 31,300 CFM from 3 Haakon Custom AHUs and 180 tons of cooling from 1 Daikin Trailblazer AGZ chiller. Both products are ideal for retrofit applications because of their compact footprint, and provide optimal efficiency with heat recovery options.
