HTS New England was chosen as the basis of design to replace inefficient chillers for the Federal Aviation Administration’s Nashua, NH location. Relocated to Nashua in 1963, the FAA facility monitors all air traffic along the East Coast, resulting in the supervision of 1.7 million flights per year.
The facility, known as “Boston Center,” required critical and proper cooling for the main computer system. HTS replaced the existing chillers with three Daikin Magnitude Magnetic Bearing Chillers, which provided a quiet, energy efficient, cost effective replacement for the FAA’s system that was able to fit down the basement stairs. The three newly installed chillers will reliably provide high quality dehumidification and reduce maintenance cost for long term savings.
