For this CPS Energy project in San Antonio, the construction team had 30 days to replace two water-cooled chillers while the building was still occupied. The first chiller was delivered through the elevator shaft and reassembled in the mechanical room. Once this chiller was up and running for a week with no issues, the second chiller was then replaced in the same fashion.
CPS Energy chose to work with HTS because the Daikin-McQuay Magnitude magnetic bearing chillers are the most efficient and have the best life cycle cost. CPS also selected to team up with HTS because of their extensive experience and multitude of magnetic bearing chiller installations in Texas.
