HTS New England was selected to supply the Boston Celtics’ new state-of-the-art practice facility with an HVAC system. Located at Boston Landing, Auerbach Center will be home to the Celtics after 17 years spent at Health Point in Waltham. Auerbach Center will include two basketball courts, conditioning facilities, physical therapy areas, a media room, office space and more.
Celtics President, Rich Gotham, remarked on the facility, saying, “Having a place where they feel comfortable, a place where they want to spend time, a place where they’re able to improve themselves across the board — strength and conditioning, nutrition, sports science — it’s all coming together in a pretty big way.”
The 135,000 square foot space needed a system that would keep players cool while providing efficient, building-wide air flow. HTS was chosen as the basis of design for five Haakon Air Handling Units, each with a capacity of 210,000 CFM, and two 500 ton Diakin chillers.
