Bay City Boys and Girls Club purchased an old, 8,000 square foot elementary school which required extensive cleaning and remodeling. Mechanical Contractor, Bay City Electric & A/C, teamed up with HTS to design a HVAC system to replace the outdated chilled water unit ventilators. Since the building was remodeled in phases, the construction team needed a modular system. The owner also required a HVAC design that was aesthetically pleasing (inside and outside the building) and energy efficient.
Bay City Electric & A/C installed two Daikin VRV-III Heat Pump systems serving the newly remodeled classrooms. The modular flexibility of the system allowed the contractor to install the fan coil units in stages and the long piping lengths, which Daikin VRV can accommodate, allowed the contractor to place the condensing units in a location where they do not litter the building’s landscape.
HTS/Daikin’s VRV system allowed for a single condensing unit for multiple spaces, reduced electrical installation cost, and highly efficient system for the owner.
