The ABIA East Expansion was a $350 million project that added nine new gates to the bustling capital city airport. There were some unique aspects of this project including the strict security clearances need for staff for install, support, and maintenance. With the influx of people at the airport, the air handler units (AHUs) had to be responsive to high latent loads, and the client wanted conscious AHUs that fit into tight areas and were energy efficient.
For this project, we chose multiple Daikin Custom AHUs and Daikin Fan Coil Units (FCUs) along with Krueger VAVs, Grilles, Registers, and Diffusers, and Twin City Exhaust Fans. With this unique project, we chose to use Daikin’s customizable AHUs to design exactly what was needed and incorporated other products to design the desired product for the client.
