As part of Phase 3 process upgrades to the filter systems, the Region included an upgrade to the building’s HVAC system to improve humidity control in the filter area.
The design team from Associated Engineering provided a design package, executed by Kenaidan Contracting Ltd., with mechanical works undertaken by Glover Hill Inc. and sheet metal works undertaken by Alltrade Industrial Contractors.
HTS worked with the design team from the initial design concept through to the final execution of the project. Together with the design team, we provided the construction team an integrated solution: Custom Haakon Heat Recovery; Air Handling Unit and a control system for the heating, ventilation and humidity control of the space.
This solution provided a custom air handler capable of providing heating, free cooling, heat recovery and dehumidification to the space with an emphasis on minimizing energy usage. Special consideration was given to the maximum weight requirements of the existing structure with the application of aluminum casing.
HTS supplied the following equipment:
- Custom Haakon Heat Recovery
- Air Handling Unit
- Control system for the heating, ventilation and humidity control of the space
