The University of the Incarnate Word is a well-established private university in San Antonio, TX. The University has several colleges and programs for students furthering their education in business, arts, nursing, and several other areas of study. One of the most respected schools within the system is the Rosenberg School of Optometry, which recently opened a brand-new eye clinic open to the general public.
The Bowden Eye Care and Health Institute was established to not only provide a real experience for optometry students at UIW but also provide low-cost, high-tech eye care to San Antonio residents. The best eye care needs to have the best facility right down to the HVAC equipment. Having previous experience with both the owner and the engineer, HTS Texas was selected as the basis of design for the project. HTS has proven success with healthcare projects and designing systems that cater to the needs and requirements of clinic settings.
HTS provided 3 Daikin Maverick II packaged rooftop units, totaling 20,850 CFM and 82 tons. These VAV rooftop units demonstrated the best efficiency and payback for the tonnage needed on this project.
