The new construction of Harvard University’s Science and Engineering Complex was equipped with a custom HVAC system. As basis of design, HTS provided 400,000 CFM of Haakon Air Handling Units, constructed entirely of aluminum to ensure maximum longevity for the facility. Included was elaborate 250,000 CFM Laboratory Exhaust Heat-Recovery Air Handling Unit designed for ultra-high efficiency.
The 6-story, 500,000 square-foot complex encompasses cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art facilities used by more than 900 undergraduates, 400 graduates, 450 researchers, and 80 faculty members each day. The custom, energy efficient HVAC system provides the building with the highest of air quality for the teaching and research performed.
